Big picture

This article is based on Immaterial 1.1, an extension to the feature is planned

With Big Picture, now you can view all the relations (including nested!) between feelings, thoughts, ideas, events, world views and effects as one interconnected graph, all based on existing data you have in the 1.0 app with no data loss!

The first 2 images show the expanded and collapsed modes for the same selected item, with the third image showcasing ideas circularly dependent on each other. Data can get MUCH more complex than this.

Some details on Big Picture:

  • pinch to zoom in/out and swipe to move camera

  • origin, trigger, general relatedness, ancestry, favorites and focus are all automatically mapped

  • shows indirectly related concepts and links for any item

  • switch between expanded and compact modes. compact will only show you the concepts and their linking, whereas expanded also shows details about relations and meta data

  • choose from up to six levels of depth, with the last one showing the whole network of concepts around a selected one, regardless of how loosely they are tied

  • click on any concept to change focus to it within Big picture

  • dark mode fully integrated

Introduced in 1.1, Big Picture presents the user data as it was always intended, an interconnected network where patterns and connections can be much closely observed and tweaked.

it integrates data from the Library, Relations, Reshape, Deconstruct, Origin and other features, bringing a real sense of wholeness to the current offering of Immaterial. 1.0 was cool, but it isn’t 1.1 with Big Picture.
