New in Immaterial 3- key concepts
Hey everyone!
Today we'll be breaking down our latest 2 weeks of progress on Immaterial 3. We reached some great milestones in the development of version 3 that we're excited to get you excited about!
Upgrades to the Immaterial core
It's been a while since we had any major updates to our data models and how the app operates, things haven't changed much since the Meta Models 2.0 update on Android.
2.0 brought us the ability to create create custom concept and relation types, effectively making your ideas expandable in infinite dimensions.
They are:
- Concept types (e.g. Feeling, System) which can afterwards be used to create items of (e.g. the excited feeling, the Stoicism system), and
- Relation types (e.g. Parent/Child, Triggers/Triggered by, etc.) - for connecting different concept types under different heuristics.
Key concepts
Today we're happy to announce Immaterial 3 will feature a new layer of interaction and integration with your mind's process called key concepts. Key concepts are in-app concepts bundled with the app and with different concept packages, subject to specific in-app constraints in order to maintain their consistent semantics (and having them still make sense) while still being able to leverage them by linking them to your own concepts.
The current list of key concepts contains:
- "Nothing": for when you want to label a concept as unfounded (in fundamental reality)
- "Don't know": for labeling a situation or area-of-interest as a known unknown. Its a hint, emphasizing the need for further research and that the current validity is unknown, i.e. an idea is possibly both true and false, and before attaching to any side further research is needed.
We plan on growing and opening up the key concepts feature further, this is just the start
New navigation UX
Over the past few weeks we’ve also fine-tuned our navigation system for it to make more sense at an intuitive level. Immaterial 3 displays on the home page a list of available tools and features, being able to expand the tool by tapping on it. This functionality is also implemented in the library. Only an in-app video would do it justice, and we’re here to deliver:
That’s all for now! Next up, we’re getting closer to releasing Immaterial 3 to the public!
