Immaterial 3’s progression system
Last week ago today we let you know we're building Immaterial 3. Since then we've been working hard on making a level progression system that makes sense in a world where there wasn't one before.
With Immaterial 2, you were given hundreds of features that you could use without any filters as soon as you got the app. The amount of utilities was too much for some, and users didn't know where to go first. It's something we definitely wanted to get better with on Immaterial 3, the experience should be straightforward.
In the new app, all users will start the process through an introductory Unravel flow. From there we keep giving users new features as soon as they level up, rewarding them for trying newly-unlocked features and adding new data to their profile.
This way we can easily introduce features that make sense most in connection to what you've worked with so far. There's no reason to see more advanced meta-models features when you don't know how the app fully works yet and how to best leverage those features for the insights you need.
Currently the plan is:
the first 20 levels of progression will.be available to all users, free and paying.
features beyond level 20 will be available only to premium users. You'll be able to get premium as a one-time payment or as a small monthly sub. You need to currently have premium to do any progression above 20 or use any of the features available after 20.
Although experience gain and levels are working in the build we have out already, it's too early to show anything. Hopefully this gives you a better idea of how Immaterial 3 will be more concisr and easy to understand!
Until next week, cheers!
