Immaterial 1.2.1 is live + payment model details

We’re back sooner than expected, and among other changes, we overhauled the library and the timeline listings!

Here’s the full release notes for 1.2.1:

Functionality

  • Searching in the library and in pop-ups looks through item descriptions now too

  • Timeline and Library tabs have new list items

  • Removed "filter root nodes" from library, it was a remnant from the old database structure

  • Onboarding updated

Others

  • New colors for the different concept types

  • Descriptions of concepts in lists have their markdown symbols stripped, no more ##, *, _ and friends

  • Description tooltip position tweaked

At the same time we’re prepping the next version to support the new payment model. Here’s what to look forward to:

Payment model

In a previous blog post I mentioned we’ll be bootstrapping. This means cutting out the middle man in supporting ourselves for the time being. With Version 1.3 we’ll introduce the Connections bundle, a one time in-app purchase of 4.99$ (or equivalent) which will give you access to the following features:

  • Big picture mode

  • Deconstruct and Reshape flows for Unravel

  • Data export/import

We wanted users to still be able to process their ideas, interpretations and biases regardless of paying or not, reason why we didn’t make the app paid-only. The free version still gives you a lot to work with:

  • Create, organize and filter through concepts of the self and the world.

  • Create and manage multiple types of relations between concepts

  • Use the Origin/Source hierarchy to map where concepts come from and what makes them stand. Filter by origin in the Library tab

  • Focus on what matters with the Focus flag. All focused concepts are available in the Home tab

  • Starred items, filter starred/not starred in the Library tab

  • Daily reminders

We’re excited about the solution we came up with and how we can expand on it moving forward. The Connections bundle doesn’t mean we will stop pushing updates to the free features, all features will keep growing together into stronger versions of themselves as the platform naturally develops.

If you’re interested in buying the package or just want to support us, you will able to buy it in-app in Immaterial 1.3, we’re grateful for your support. For now there’s 1.2.1 to play with!
